December 24, 2012 by Orthodox Whitehorse
From Wednesday, December 19th until Friday, December 21st, the St. Nikolai Mission was blessed to host His Grace, our Bishop Irénée in Whitehorse. During His Grace’s one-and-a-half day visit, the Bishop offered direct pastoral care to the Orthodox faithful. On Thursday morning, Vladyka Irénée served the Divine Liturgy at Maryhouse. We express our thanks to our friends there for sharing their premises with us.
On Thursday evening, the St. Nikolai community was pleased to host a supper gathering at the home of one of our Mission members. This time together allowed us to talk together with our Bishop, to receive his counsel, as well as to enjoy Christian fellowship, friendship and hospitality. We are glad to have been able to welcome our Archpastor again in Whitehorse, and are grateful for his ministry with us.
We would also like to wish Vladyka a joyous birthday on December 25th – that’s right – His Grace’s birthday is on Holy Nativity! Eis polla eti Despota!
